On 28–29 October, the Water Environment Conference will once again bring together municipalities, public authorities, the agricultural sector, environmental organisations, consultants, researchers and businesses in Vingsted. All share a commitment to a healthier aquatic environment and the sustainable development of Denmark’s landscape.
Denmark is undergoing major changes in how we use our land, protect nature and improve conditions in watercourses, lakes, fjords and coastal waters. The Water Environment Conference 2026 will therefore focus on some of the areas where the need for knowledge, collaboration and practical solutions is greatest:
- Phosphorus challenges in lakes and fjords, and new opportunities to reduce phosphorus levels.
- Experiences from coastal water councils and their role in future water management.
- Local tripartite partnerships, collaboration and public engagement in implementing measures to improve the aquatic environment.
- Nature conservation and restoration in projects involving the withdrawal of agricultural land from production and the establishment of wetlands.
- Experiences with locally tailored funding schemes.
- Watercourses, restoration measures and new research findings.
- Coastal nature projects, including the establishment of stone reefs.
Practical experience, new technical insights and concrete challenges will give participants a broader understanding of what works, where barriers remain and what is needed to accelerate progress towards a healthier aquatic environment. For Denmark to improve its aquatic environment while developing its landscape in ways that work in practice, local experience, strong collaboration and solutions that can be put into action are essential.
Alongside the conference programme, there will be plenty of time for debate, networking and conversations across sectors, including during the conference dinner.
As a conference partner, Clean can also offer selected companies with relevant water and environmental solutions the opportunity to take part in the conference and showcase their solutions in the exhibition area. To learn more about these opportunities, please contact Thomas using the contact details at the bottom of the page.
